The Liquid Team
Our highly qualified team of teachers.

Annabel Weeden (currently on maternity leave)
Academy Director/Principal
Annabel joined Liquid Dance Academy in 2017, after moving back from teaching in Spain, and took over during 2020. She loves teaching street/hip hop, musical theatre and contemporary. Annabel studied ballet, tap, modern and theatre craft when she was young, then specialised in physical theatre and movement at university. She has a BA in Music and Theatre, a PGCE in Secondary Teaching and an MA in Applied Theatre and Intervention. She has a silver medal in street dance and is working towards her dance to music fitness diploma next year!

Jasmine G & Summer H
Dance Teachers/Choreographers
Jasmine and Summer have been with Liquid Dance Academy for about six years, and are absolutely integral to the running of classes, the admin, and pastoral support to our students. Jasmine has 2 BTEC qualifications in dance and a huge amount of experience working with children and young people.
Summer has 2 BTEC qualifications in dance, grades 1-5 in Ballet, Tap and Theatre, and is currently studying BA Education, Psychology and Counselling at university. Both will be stepping up to take charge whilst Annabel is on maternity leave!

Gill Goldstraw
Head Volunteer/Treasurer
Gill is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to communities, the money we spend to make Liquid Dance Academy the best community dance academy, and looks after all the staff and students as if they are her own. Gill has qualifications in childcare and playwork, and ran a scout group for years. To the team and to the youngest children, she is Nanny Gill.

Jemma Midgley
Academy Founder
Jemma founded Liquid Dance Academy in 2014, with the view that young people should be able to access dance for the fun and fitness, without added pressure of exams or competitions. She has a BA in Dance, a Postgrad in Youth Work and loves contemporary/release technique. Jemma comes back to help when she can and bring her son to classes!
